Nurse Jackie – Season 1

Showtime’s new dark comedy Nurse Jackie stars Edie Falco as title character Jackie Peyton, a “flawed” emergency room nurse at All Saints’ Hospital in New York City. For Jackie, “Every day is a high wire act of juggling patients, doctors, fellow nurses and her own indiscretions.” She is a strong-willed woman balancing a hectic work life with a complex personal life, all the while fighting the health care system along the way.

Episode 01: Pilot
It was a good episode, kind of interesting, but kind of boring, especially in the second half. Edie Falco was really good in the role of the drug taking nurse, but when this is the only think what she is doing, it could be boring very fast.
The episode story was boring though. I didn’t care about anything and everything was pretty uninteresting: Jackie screwing Eddie (Paul Schulze), then having a family at the end (interesting, but still it didn’t pick me); Jackie taking drugs; Jackie trying to save lives, even outside of the hospital (which looks kind of scary. The hospital I mean) – it wasn’t really that interesting to amuse me during the half hour, but the quality was there, “it” is just missing and I can love this show. For now it is just a show when I have some more time on my hands, not really a must-see. 7/10
