The X-Files – Season 1

Fox (“Don’t call me Fox”) Mulder (David Duchovny) is a believer in the paranormal. He has been assigned to the X-Files unit which investigates FBI cases for which standard investigatory techniques don’t seem to work. Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson), a medical doctor and FBI agent, is a skeptic and a non-believer. She is assigned to partner up with Mulder in helping him with solving the X-Files. Together, they investigate paranormal cases which takes them all the way to alien conspiracies within our government and even puts their lives and careers at risk.

Episode 01: Pilot
It is a good pilot episode. The characters were well introduced, the use of the X-Files as a mystery of the series plot is well explained, the setting is good, the case of the episode is good, the actors are great, the mystery is wonderful. There is one problem though which brought the episode a bit down for me: The story is told too slow. And I have a little problem with the score of Mark Snow: It is boring.
So: a good start to one of the probably best TV series ever, if you want to believe the fans. I am thrilled for the next nine seasons. 7/10
